Dear Jan,

I have enjoyed working with you over the past few years on many different projects. You have always impressed me with your ideas and color choices and your vision makes ordinary become extraordinary.

Although every job I have been involved in with you has been impressive, the job that stands out the most was the very outdated office complex, 1275 Wampanoag Trail in East Providence. I will never forget walking in there for the first time seeing turquoise doors and trim. Everything was outdated. I thought the place was hopeless, not even paint could help. Then I looked at you and you were so excited to accept a challenge. You could see the excitement in your face as the creative juices started to flow. There were 35 doors in this building and one was mahogany and 34 were turquoise. You asked me if I could make all the doors look like mahogony. My job was easy, but, changing the door color wouldn’t be enough and much more needed to be done.

I had the opportunity to visit the office complex recently and it was the first time I had seen the building completed. It ws an incredible transformation.

For you, Jan, no job is too big or too small, too easy or too hard. You come with a smile and great ideas to share with your clients.

We had tons of people at the house this weekend who had not been here since we began redoing the kitchen. Everyone loved it! The floor, countertops, wall color … nothing but rave reviews. You’ve done it again!

Thank you for all your input on putting the finishing touches, and then some, on my almost completed kitchen. When I first requested your assistance, it was solely to help bring some closure, to a much too drawn out debate on which type of counter top would best compliment the recently painted walls and cabinets.

After quickly assessing the surroundings, and sorting through the bottomless pile of samples I had accumulated, within minutes, you helped me make a decision I had been deliberating over for months. With the primary objective complete and the creative juices flowing, there was much more to discuss.

From creative space saving storage to color schemes for future art work, your guidance provided me with answers to questions I hadn’t yet thought of. As a result, the vision you instilled in me has extinguished my frustration and rekindled my excitement in the project.

I absolutely love my family room!!! I now even love the furniture my husband picked out. He is so pleased, also. I walk downstairs every morning and look over at the family room and tell him how much I love the look. I can’t wait until our son is married…. so we can begin to redo the kitchen. I already told him that I am not doing anything without you!

We are so happy with the design of the living room! After several days, it still feels right and we’re anxious to get started with the changes. It ws so nice to have you visit and make so many suggestions for what we’ve wanted in that room for a long time…

I think I’m a good PR person for your work, too. I tell everyone how happy I am with the plan as realized so far and as anticipated in the future. A friend of mine and I had lunch on Thursday and she checked it all out. It’s nice to hear the “oohs” and “aahs” from someone else with a flair for interior design. I told her how often I think of you…every morning when I turn on those sconces and they shine a more forgiving light on my face!! I never would have thought of that, but, I’m really glad you did…

Just to let you know, this was the best birthday gift in 36 years of marriage…she is so excited! We had designers in before but this seems to have really excited her!!

I am excited to finally get some work done on that room….thanks for your creative suggestions and insight! I really think the color combinations we selected will look fantastic! I appreciate your help in selecting window treatments as well. I’m confident that it will all come together nicely. Looking forward to hearing from you again soon.

You know we think often of having a home that others will admire, and Ill have to admit that the positive reaction of others is gratifying, but, I find that it is even more important, to me at least, to have rooms that are aesthetically pleasing to me and that make me feel at peace when I am in them. Your decorating has achieved that. I’m glad that you listened as I said what I wanted, and…I’m very glad that I listened to you, even if not convinced about the flooring in the beginning…

We really enjoyed our meeting with you, as well….it was so helpful and it is amazing how you can visualize the room so differently. It was a big relief to know there is a way that will be both practical and attractive to set things up. Thank you so much.

Jan, on two occasions I have been able to see interiors that were bland, uninteresting and even ugly. You have transformed them in a way that is discreet and intriguing. The before conversion into something finished and polished is amazing. All the components, including the furnishings and colors and the artwork all work together in pure harmony. Nothing rivals another or overpowers another piece. You are a gifted designer. I can say that I am proud to have played a part in your visual orchestra.
